Pre-Kindergarten Developmental Record

Three times a year, Jackson gets "tested" at school to document his learning progress.  We just received his November "report card."  All in all, he is a pretty smart little boy (who still hasn't mastered hopping on one foot!)  His last report card was in May.  He mastered almost all of the Pre-School checklist and has done pretty well on the Pre-Kindergarten checklist as well.

It's kind of hard to read, so here are some of the highlights:

Learning:
  1. Values own property and others
  2. Identifies and labels own feelings
  3. Recognizes rhyming words
  4. Recognizes some sight words
  5. Asks complex questions
  6. Follows three or more directions
  7. Kicks ball with accuracy
  8. Hops on one foot

Mastered
  1. Follows classroom rules
  2. Shares or takes turns with others
  3. Works independently
  4. Expresses a wide range of emotions
  5. Helps clean up messes
  6. Participates in story time
  7. Asks to be read to
  8. Pretends to read
  9. Writes letters independently
  10. Throws and catches a ball from 4-6 feet away
Also, not sure why he didn't recognize a lower case b, but he does know that.  And, of course, my favorite part of the assessment - his self portrait!!
