Jackson enjoyed watching the game outside, eating lots of popcorn and chips and lots of dessert. He was feeling pretty cool!
Jim Merklin, a partner in my office, bought all the kiddos baseballs (Audrey got a Rubberducks onsie!), which later in the evening, the owner of the team signed. Ken Babby (the son of the owner of the Phoenix Suns) is the owner of the Akron Rubberducks. The Rubberducks also happen to be a client of BMF. Well, the son of our HR director was totally excited about getting to meet Ken. (He's 11.) When Ken came by our suite, David asked him to sign his baseball. Well, Jackson doesn't really know (or care) who Ken Babby is, but he can see how excited David was, so he got excited too! When he asked Ken to sign his baseball, he said that he want to sign it first! So Jackson wrote his name on the ball and then Ken also wrote his name. It was super cute and I think it made Jackson's night.
And a little later in the evening, Orbit came by the suit to visit. We managed to get a picture of the boys with him. Orbit was the mascot when the team was called Akron Aeros. I guess they decided to keep him, even though the team name changed and all the marketing changed. I guess some things can't be replaced.
Audrey did okay. She was very clingy to her mama while we were at the game. She had a tough time falling asleep, but did finally do so....
