Fonner Family Festivities.

The Fonner family festivities were first on the Christmas vacation.  We headed to Evansville on Monday, leaving the house around 10am.  We took our time and rolled into Evansville around 4pm.  After a quick stop to visit papaw Dan, we headed to Grams'.  The kiddos didn't get out of the car at the cemetery.  It was really quite cold and windy and the rain was spitting a little bit.  The last thing I wanted was for the kiddos to get sick for the holidays! 

We got to Grams' just after 3/4 of the Huebschmans and just a little before the Bashams.  From that moment on, the house was CRAZY.  Six children between the ages of 1 and 5 make a big mess and whole lot of noise!  And possibly even worse than the noise is trying to figure out what to feed these 6 very picky eaters.  Kenzie and Audrey actually ate mama's chicken and dumplings.  The other four -- not so much!  That's pretty much the story of every meal we had!

 

After the long day of traveling, we were all pretty beat and didn't stay up too late.  Tuesday didn't really have any plans but just hanging around the house and letting the kids play (and the adults too)!

 

 

 

While the kiddos played on Tuesday afternoon, mom, Kelly, Joel, Josh and I played a new game that mom got.  It was like telephone only drawing.  It was hilarious and to no one's surprise, I am a terrible artist!

 

Kate and Kenzie rolled into town during the late afternoon.  Our plan was to go to the Ritzy's Festival of Lights and ride in the carriage to see the Christmas lights.  We packed up three cars with six adults and six children and off to Garvin Park we went.  The weather wasn't that great, but we thought we would make it anyway.  We arrived only to find out that sometimes the horses and carriages don't come out when the weather's not great.  So we waited about 15 minutes and distracted the kids with fireworks (poppers). 

 

 

And then we decided that we were not going to get to see the lights the way we intended, so we all piled back into out three cars and drove through the park.  Better luck next year!  Back to the house for dinner and more playing.

 

 

And what would Fonner Family Christmas be without the matching jammies.... Sure, they look super cute and like this was really no big deal, BUT IT WAS.  It ALWAYS is.  Tyler started off crying, so then Kenzie was crying too.  Then, we got Tyler back and Audrey wanted to crawl off the couch.  Then three of the kiddos had socks on and three didn't, so we had to get rid of those.  And then FINALLY, we got one decent photo of these six adorable children!

 

And I managed to get one picture of those cute Elsass kids.  Audrey didn't want to, but Jackson was all for it!

 

Wednesday was a total Grazefest.  There was a little bit of breakfast and then there were cookies, chex mix, chips and queso, buffalo chicken dip, puppy chow, veggie pizza, banana cake, meatballs, a chicken crescent roll ring, AND SO MUCH MORE.... 

 

We opened gifts mid morning and then played games and ATE ALL DAY.

 

 

 

My children are the CUTEST babes in the WHOLE world.  Can you possibly disagree with that statement?

 

 

And I'm starting a new tradition of Fonner Trio photo at Christmas.  We made it outside this year and only had a to take 10 to get a couple of good ones!

 

 

And of course we had to take the photo of the entire family.  It only took 4 shots to get a decent one!  That has to be a record.  And, I had no idea Jason was wearing a Batman shirt until the flash the camera revealed it!
