The Boy Can Read. He's 4.

While this picture was totally staged in an attempt to get some pictures for my mom, it made the perfect photo for this post.  (I should also go an take a picture of Jackson's bed -- it is COVERED in books!)

Jackson has been working on his reading skills for quite some time now.  First he was memorizing books that were read TO him, then he learned a few site words, and then he learned the art of "sounding it out."  We officially have a reader and he is ONLY 4 years old.  It still completely amazes me that he can do this.  It's just another thing he can do that makes you think he's older than he is, so when he acts like a 4 year old, you're shocked!

He can pick up just about any children's book now and read the majority of it.  He works hard to sound out the words that he doesn't know.  Aunt Katie taught him a couple of "tricks" a few weeks ago and he retained those as well.  His teacher, Miss Elly, has been working with him also.  I am so proud of him!
