Finally.... A Nice Day in NEO

Last weekend, we FINALLY has a nice a day nice enough to get to play outside for a little while.  We had been talking about buying a Jackson a bike for quite some time now.  Josh had done some research online and found out the training wheels really aren't that great of a way to learn how to ride a bike.  He bought him this "balance" bike.  It has no petals.  You have to propell it by your feet and then pull you feet up and try to balance the bike.  So far, Jackson is walking the bike around and is able to steer it.  We haven't gotten to the point where he is pulling both of his feet up, but I think he will learn.  He even got to pick out the color all by himself.  He was SOOO exicted when it came. 

 He wanted to ride his bike all the way down the street and back.  So he did.  He was lovin' it. 

 

I love this picture of Jackson.  Something about it reminds me of my daddy standing on the side of a soccer field watching his girls play.  Every morning on the way to school (when the sun is out), he pulls his glasses out of the pocket of his carseat and puts them on.  Most days, he purposefully puts them on upside down just so mommy will tell him that they he has them on upside down.  He also tries to get them to stay on his forehead, which is how Josh wears his glasses when he takes them off his eyes (so he doesn't mess up his hair!)

After riding his bike all the way down the street, we decided to take a ride to see if we could find Josh, who was playing basketball at one of Wadsworth's many parks.  On our way to the last park, we drove past him.  He called and we decided to take Jackson to the Kalidescope Park.  It has a nice playground and Jackson loves it.  As soon as we got out of the car, he takes of running.  The only downside to this park is the number of bigger kids that come out a play.  By bigger kids, I mean 8-10 year olds.  They are typically playing catch and pay very little attention to the smaller kids.  It frustrates us to watch the kids practically run over the smaller ones.  Fortunately, Jackson is a pretty tough kid and he stands on his own pretty well.
